Short Bio

Andrea Franchini is a researcher in the Natural Language Processing (NLP) group at the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA, Switzerland). Andrea obtained his master's degree in Software and Data Engineering from Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI, Switzerland), and his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from USI. His master’s thesis revolved around time optimization and error reduction for hospital emergency departments. His research interests represent a continuation of his thesis work, as in NLP applications for treatment time optimization and error chance mitigation in the medical field. His personal interests involve filmmaking, hardware, CGI, and Japanese arts and culture.
