Oscar William Lithgow is a postdoctoral researcher in the Natural Language Processing (NLP) group at IDSIA. His research interests lie in the area of semantic similarity, entailment and literature enrichment. Oscar completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science (CS), with the main topic of semantic similarity, at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and an MPhil in CS with a specialty in NLP at the University of Cambridge. During all his Ph.D. he collaborated with the Center of Genomic Sciences in México applying NLP techniques to the curation of genomic literature within a project funded by the US National Institute of Health (NIH).
